If you want to get an insider's view of where to go and what to do who better to ask than the people who call it home?! We want each and every guest at Holiday Inn Express Exeter to get the best from their stay with us, so we wanted to share our thoughts and suggestions on how to get the best our of you break....
Crealy Park
Adventure park for children of all ages, approx five minutes from the Holiday Inn Exeter. We go regularly due to having children aged between 2years and 15 years and can honestly say we all have a fab time……. Children can be left to run riot in the indoor play areas. stroll on the farm, enjoy the rides. A whole day out for all the family to enjoy.
Powderham Castle
Explore Devon’s heritage castle. I went along to experience the tour, the guide gives you a personal insight of all the occupants that have lived in the castle dating back to 18th Century. The secret garden, the teddy bears picnic was a huge hit for the children.
Exmouth sea front
This is such a popular attraction! Living just 15 minutes away from Exmouth I take advantage of the long stretched sandy beach. At the start of the beach is Exmouth doc`s and at the end of the 3 mile stretch you have the glorious Jurassic Coastline. Half way down the beach is a MUST stop point, the man in the shed selling the best ice cream I have tasted since I was a child, I think he has actually been there since I was a child. Channel View café opposite the Octagon does an amazing breakfast, lunch and evening meal all very reasonably priced. We hire sun beds for the day for £3.50, and spend our day having fun and games on a lovely sandy beach. Alternatively some of the family decided to take a boat trip around the coastline.
Exeter Quay
We often walk along the river ex, and finish up at the Exeter Quay where we fill our boots with a dustbin lid pizza from the water front, we also start at the quays and end up at the Turf Locks to enjoy a pint of their home brewed beer.
Dartmouth
About an hour’s drive from the Holiday Inn Express, an experience that cannot be missed! We visited for the first time and cannot wait to go back, the country side, ponies and many places to eat were well worth the drive. We visited Blackpool Sands whilst we were there and were amazed to see a beautiful beach with blue sea! It looked like something that you would only see abroad and we have it here in Devon.
